One of Singapore’s
famous delights is rojak. Rojak is actually the Malay term for “mixture”. It is
basically a traditional fruit and vegetable salad dish. The dish consist of
pineapples, cucumbers, dough fritters or 油条 (you tiao, a term more commonly used by
Singaporeans), mang guang (yam bean/jicama), beansprouts, tau pok (a type of
bean curd) mixed in shrimp paste and topped with chopped peanuts. While the
idea of shrimp paste may scare some people, mostly tourists who aren’t used to
the taste, some people actually love and enjoy shrimp paste in the rojak.

Another famous rojak stall in Singapore is Soon Heng Rojak. Soon Heng Rojak has also been featured on many television shows and magazines/newspapers in Singapore. That is also one of the reasons why the queue at Soon Heng Rojak is so long. However, the most contributing factor as to why it is so popular is because of the generous serving! There is also cuttlefish included, which is very generous for a $3 rojak. Also, the sauce is sweet and not “watery”, unlike other sauces that are too “watery” and not sweet enough. In addition, as compared to the “traditional” way of preparing the dough fritters (by grilling them), Soon Heng Rojak oven-bakes the dough fritters before it is served! This is healthier as charcoal grilling is not that good for your health. Thus, I would definitely recommend this stall to all of you, as long as you don’t mind waiting a long time for it.

I love Toa Payoh Rojak! It's the best and definitely my favourite. There's always a long queue, but thie stall's rojak is worth the wait. I will try out the other stalls for sure, thank you for the recommendation :-)
I've never tried rojak before but looking at the pictures here, it's so mouth watering! Will definitely try it some day! Thanks for the recommendation! (;
I simply love rojak but I have not tried those you recommended before. I will give it a try someday! I am grateful for your recommendations!(:
Wow!! The pictures definitely looked very appetizing and appealing. I've never tried eating rojak before but seeing your pictures is really tempting me to go ahead and try them out! And really, thanks for writing down the addresses of the good rojak stalls! It really helps me save time searching for those stalls you recommended. Good job on writing out the meticulous details of each stalls as well! It gave me a lot more information on those rojak stalls than I would ever know if I were to try searching by myself. Hope you can continue to recommend some really good foods! (;
